Let the agent do all the work up to the irreversible action, then stop. You handle the last mile.
Draft the email — you hit send. Prepare the tweet — you click post. Fill the cart — you confirm. It's a clear boundary between assistance and commitment.
What Gets Automated
Everything else — the 95% that isn't the final commit:
- Research — find options, summarize reviews, recommend a choice
- Drafting — write the email, compose the message
- Staging — add to cart, fill forms, queue actions
- Internal comms — message people you already work with
Three Things Stay Manual
Money. Any transaction — $5 or $500. Subscriptions, renewals, purchases. The agent prepares everything, you complete it.
Strangers. First contact with people you don't know. Cold emails, new DMs. The agent drafts, you review and send.
Public posts. Anything on a public timeline. Tweets, LinkedIn, blog comments. Your name, your reputation, your click.
Why This Works
Agents can hallucinate, misunderstand context, or get phished by prompt injection. None of that matters if there's a human checkpoint before irreversible actions.
The last mile is fast — reviewing a draft takes seconds, confirming a purchase takes one click. The agent did 95% of the work. You're just the final sanity check.
